Data Submission
To ensure the legacy of IPY and inn keeping with the
IPY Data Policy (PDF), we seek to identify and track the location
of all data collected explicitly as part of one of the
IPY endorsed projects.
The IPY Data - Plans and Needs (PDF) document outlines a general schedule:
By March 2009: All IPY data sets should be described in the IPY Metadata Portal or appropriate national metadata registries.
Please register your metadata with the GCMD or national registry.
By March 2010: All IPY data should be accessible through an international network of regional and speciality data
centers and services.
By March 2012: All IPY data should be in secure long-term archives.
